HARSH TRUTHS ABOUT LIFE

  • You don't value enough of what you already have.
  • Your one negative thought is as powerful as your five positive thoughts.
  • You can ACTUALLY change your past by changing the underlying meaning of those memories.
  • The smarter you get, the more friends you lose.
  • Your fear of embarrassing yourself is the biggest hurdle to your growth.
  • The more empty your mind, the faster it gets. The more cluttered your mind, the slower it gets.
  • You don't suck at managing your time, you just don't know how valuable it is.
  • The more available you are, the less respected you'd be.
  • You will have to walk some paths alone because goals are personal; no one has your dreams.
  • No one is coming to save you. Your life is 100% your responsibility.

Which one hit the hardest?

My second book GET EPIC SHIT DONE LAUNCHES on SATURDAY!
It is available on Amazon, Audible, Kindle (worldwide), KukuFM and all retail stores across the country.

BOOK I AM READING THIS WEEK

Started reading this amazing book Against the Gods: The Remarkable Story of Risk.
As the name suggests, it is the story of risk and how as a civilization we started to measure risk and understand it (through the science of probability). If you are interested in math and history, you will love the book!
If you are an investor, you will adore it :)

Good read to end the year. Next week I will share my Top 10 books of 2022; excited :)

QUOTES TO SHARE

The most valuable life is knowing how to be alone, but not have to.

It’s hard to realize that people who meant so much to you have now become toxic to you. It’s harder to let them go.

It doesn’t matter what time you wake up everyday. What matters is that you wake up at the same time everyday.

RESPONSES TO LAST WEEK'S QUESTION

Last week I asked you:

Do you believe in ghosts/spirits?

  1. Yes
  2. No
  3. I am not sure

Here are the responses:

Observations:

  • This is pretty consistent across ages. Almost 40% believe, 40% don't and the rest are still making up their mind, unless they encounter them haha!
  • What was fascinating was that almost everyone who said yes they believe in them and answered why - said it is because they believe in god. Which was my hypothesis - that belief in god is a reason to believe in spirits/ghosts as well - especially spirits because a lot of religions do talk about the spirit as being the permanent.
  • I love such questions :)))

My response?
I do not believe in ghosts or spirits, but I cannot deny that I am really scared of them - largely because of my zero tolerance around horror movies. Oooooh - that gives me the idea for next week's question :))

Do you have the right tools? Sometimes, I get these cute DMs: "Ankur, your pics are looking awesome. Which phone do you use?" "Ankur, your videos are so sharp. Which camera do you use?" "Your voice sounds so clear and deep. Which mic do you use?" "You have been meditating for so long without fail, which app do you use?" Makes me smile :)) It's the equivalent of me asking someone, "Your book was wonderful. Which pen did you use?" A lot of us are stuck in the wait for the right tools. The right...

I had to ask! When I met my current wife, Ruchi, at the age of 19 while in college, she was way out of my league! I was the super geeky and serious kid.I had strong notions about what is right and wrong.I was too uptight.I would even call myself sad at that point.Too serious. And took myself too seriously. She, on the other hand, was the Shahrukh Khan in everybody’s life.Happy and going with the flow :))Forever smiling.Everyone adored her.Her happiness made everyone else happy around her. We...

If it's just hard work, why wouldn't you do it? Our colony had the Tennis Singles Finals this morning. I lost. While I feel slightly bad about it, I am happy about 2 things: 1/ I didn't play it safe. I played aggressively and took my chances. It's another thing that most chances did not work out :)) But I tried! 2/ I know exactly where I went wrong and what I need to do to fix it. The distance between where I am and where I wish to be can be covered by hard work. You see, a lot of us are...
